How do I determine the current number of client connections to my SQL SEVER 2005 db? I would like to take it off line - but don't want to boot anyone off. So, I would like to see when everyone is off before proceeding. I used to be able to do this in an older version of SQL

You can do this through the Activity Monitor in SSMS, sp_who/sp_who2, or by querying master.dbo.sysprocesses. There's also a DMV for this, but the already mentioned ways should be sufficient.
