What are I/O reads in SQL Server?Are they physical reads or logical reads?Can someone please explain me this? |

IO reads can be either physical or logical.SET STATISTICS IO ONwill display both types of reads. E 12°55'05.63"N 56°04'39.26" |

Thanks Peso...In general some tool doesnot mention in the results whether the read is logical i/o or physical i/o and just gives the statistics of i/o, then what does it mean? physical i/o or logical i/o? |

Which tools are you referring to?The suggestion above is used in a SSMS query window and the result is presented in the Messages tab. E 12°55'05.63"N 56°04'39.26" |
