CAST seems to be somewhat faster but offers less options.CONVERT has a lot of options.DOUBLE is a .Net datatype which equivalent is FLOAT in T-SQL.DECIMAL is an exact datatype supported by T-SQL.If you want to know more, please read Books Online about datatypes, cast and convert.
