I have a client who is running SQL Server 2000. They are unable to start the service SQLAGENT with an error that the file is not found. I have found the file in a directory that they obviously downloaded SP3 to previously. Can I stop the services and copy that file to the directory that the service file is looking at for sqlagent.exe?

You could give it a try certainly. It makes me wonder what else is missing though.
