It's been a while since I've done an installation...

What are the pros and cons in using the default system username versus specifying a domain/username/password at installation time?

Are you referring to the service accounts or just the account that will authenticate you during the installation?

SERVICE ACCOUNT (defines which accounts to log in.)
- Use the built-in System account
- Use a domain user account

That's what the dialog box offers. Must be the windows account that the SQL service runs under. When would I not want to use the built-in system account?

We always use a domain account there, always. What you need to use will depend upon the requirements of the database server, such as willl any jobs need to get to any network resources?
