hello,

I'm completely new to DB Administration. The product I want to use ist SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Ed.

Here my question:

I heard something about raw-format vs. ntfs for partitioning. Could not find usefull info on that. The DB ist going to be in a VM-Ware Machine with Win2003. What considerations should be made for partitioning? Perhaps also some notes on this raw-format thing.

thx.

The answer is simple for raw partitions: never use them.
