hello,

(System MS SQL Serv 2005 EE)
we have 3 applications which will need max 20 GB space in 3 different dbs. Performance is not an issue - the server runs in a VM-Ware machine.
The applicatiosn have all together only 10 users and all of them will access the DB only once of twice a day. Mainly read access.

What do you think about this partitioning:
c:\15 GB : OS and SQL-Server Program Files
d:\40 GB : for the databases
e:\20 GB : for the log files

Am I missing something here? Is 20GB way too much for log-files? Is there any rule of thumb for the relation of the size of db partition to the size of the log-files partition?

You see, I'm a total beginner on this, so I would appreciate any help on this.

thx alot,
h.

because you'll run out of disk space later, after a few windows updates and sql patches.

i usually allocate 33GB for OS partition
