I am trying to install SQL 6.5 on a Win 2000 machine (legacy system...) and from there restore a backed up database. At the end of the install open enterprise manager and want to now create database devices only I have no server to chose - no servers listed under the register server option. I install the 6.5 server and then service pack 3 and that's all. Any ideas?

I believe you need to install SQL Server 6.5 service pack 5a in order for it to work on Win2k.
