Hi I'm going to go for an SQL Server Administrator MCTS but here my challenge. Do I get a SQL server 2005 Certification or do I go for a 2008 certification. The reason I ask is becuase in my currect position we are using SQL Server 2005 but I know that 2008 is the up and coming DBMS so can you guys enlighten me a bit. Which one should I go for. Thanks, |

Same problem I faced earlier in the year. Go for the 2008 exams. For the money you'll be current longer.Mike"oh, that monkey is going to pay" |

Right now I'm studying the MCTS SQL Server 2008 Implementation and Maintainence. Did you take this one yet? If so is it hard? |

That's a tough question to answer actually. I think it depends on your level of experience with sql server. I thought it was the hardest of the group (I took the 2 dba and 2 developer tests) but it wasn't that difficult. Now keep in mind when I took the sql 2000 developer tests it was painful but I was working on 2 years of experience then as opposed to 11 so it's kind of a question of relativity. I will say that I think the 2nd DBA and 2nd Developer tests were a joke and just a way for microsoft to charge me another $125 bucks to take a test. I was really irritated when I left those two.Mike"oh, that monkey is going to pay" |
