Hi guyCould someone please help me out, im getting this error -:"[Shared Memory]SQL Sever does not exist or access denied""[Shared Memory]ConnectionOpen (Connect())"We are running SQL 2000 with SP3.Please help me out or point me in some direction, I will really appreciate it. |

Maybe the server is not configured for shared memory protocol?Have you tried tcp/ip for example? No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die. |

Hi FredI am new to this so please don't mind my silly responses, It will just be that im a little confused.The PC I get this error on is the same PC that SQL 2000 is loaded on.What do you mean by check the TCP/IP? |

Please have a look here:(especially: Verify the enabled protocols and aliases)http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827422/en-usshared memory should be enabled.I have no Box with sql server 2000 running so I cannot have a look... No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die. |
