I have many years experience with report writing (financial - mailout reports for large business/government) in other programs and thought I might have a look at SQL. Just installing 2008. My experience is mainly in speciality report writers, however many employers now wanting SQL.

Not sure where to start. Suggestions would be appreciated.

You can use SSIS (Integration Services) to import/export to/from SQL Server via many different types of data sources.
