| My company is about to get SQL Server 2008 and I was just wondering, if we have 75 users, how much RAM should I have on the server? I wasn't sure if there was a certain amount of RAM that is used by each user accessing the database. Thank you. |

| It's a tiny amount. You should base the amount of memory on how big the database is expected to be. We have 3000 users connected to one of our mission critical systems. We have 64GB of memory on that system, but that's not based upon user connections but rather on our knowledge of the application.Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/Subscribe to my blog"Let's begin with the premise that everything you've done up until this point is wrong." |
