INSERT INTO [login].[dbo].[login1] (pass)
SELECT REPLACE( LEFT([login].[dbo].[login2].[pass2] , 10 ), '/', '' ) ;

while running it i m getting this error:
"the multi-part identifier could not be bound" in LEFT([login].[dbo].[login2].[pass2] , 10 )

You need:


SELECT REPLACE( LEFT([pass2] , 10 ), '/', '' )
FROM [login].[dbo].[login2]

Just re-reading that:

You are taking the first 10 characters of the password and then removing any "/"

You might have meant to first remove any "/" and then take the first 10 characters?
