What do you take into consideration when doing missing critical db escalation?

Number one priority is high availability. For our MC databases, we use clustering at the primary site and mirroring for the DR site. We HA everything at both sites. We monitor all of our systems the same via MOM/SCOM and custom in-house tools. For MC databases, we also pay close attention to performance issues.
