Is there any way to restore a SQL Server 2005 bak file to SQL server 2008 database?

yes. this is possible.

You can use SQL Server Management Studio in SQL Server 2008 to restore the 2005 bak file

Silly me. Forgot to set files as All files to get the BAK File.
