I have SQL 2005 and SQL 2008 installed on my system and seperate ODBC's created for both the versions, now whenever i am creating a new database through my software it is getting created in sql 2005 version instead of sql 2008, can anybody help me in this as i am new to database administration.

You'll need to post the code as you've got a bug somewhere in there.

Why are you creating databases through your application though? This should be done in Management Studio or similar.
