Hello
I have a disk space issue with a tlog file. The database is 1 gig and the log file is 37 gigs. I want the tlog to be much smaller than it currently is. Turns out they have not been backing the tlog up. So I backed the tlog up and set it to truncate. Upon completion the tlog back up is only = 9gb. I was expecting 37gig.. the tlog remains the same size.
So now that the tlog has been backed up I attempted to shrink it again to release space.....nada.... i then tried shrinking it to a specific file. no dice... Every time I execute a shrink the properties window automatically closes and goes back to the object explorer with a blank panel on the right hand side.

i checked the app log but nothing out of the ordinary pops up.

My problem is I need to free up space on this drive and all of the tlog files are huge.

thanks
Sean
