hi all,

on my machine i can see mirror when i right click on my database. but wen i try to configure it i get a message like...

Database mirroring is disabled by default.database mirroring is currently provided for evaluation purpose only and is not to be used in production environments.to enable database mirroring for evaluation purpose, use trace flag 1400 during start up.for more information about trace flags and start up options, see sql server books online.(ms sql server, error 1498)

my sql server version is:
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.1399.06 (Intel X86) Oct 14 2005 00:33:37 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition on Windows NT 5.1 (Build 2600: Service Pack 3).

i went to command prompt and typed NET START MSSQLSERVER /T1400 i got an error showing its not the correct path.so,please let me know how to enable the mirroring..

thanks in advance.

You are running the RTM version of SQL Server 2005. Database mirroring didn't become available until service pack 1.

There have been thousands of bug fixes since build 1399, so you really, really, really should be installing service pack 3 plus CU13 to get to the latest and greatest. Using build 1399 is wreckless in my opinion if this is a production system.
