Hi there can anyone advise me what cause this failure ? why did it happen?

This is a dts package that transfer data from the oracle database to the sql server database.

i have attached the screenshot of the dts package..


here is the error log .. Does anyone know what cause this? and how to avoid this to happenned? thanks in advance..

This error typically means a connection error on the Oracle side. Does it happen every time? Can you connect to Oracle with Oracle client?

hi russell,

upon checking the log files
the error was encountered 9/11/2008 , 2/3/2009 , 12/17/2010 , and this month again jan 16 , 2011 ,, thats why im thinking whats the cause of the error..

do you have an idea? or encountered this also?

I would try to see what's happening on Network or on Oracle server that may be preventing, or dropping the connection.
