I am having a hard time understanding why a query is easy to run across the production server while its taking few minutes to execute with the same data in test sever. When I compared the 2 databases using redgate compare ,they are exactly the same. Any other things to look for ? Any ideas ?

Thanks
Ragha

might be that statistics of test server is out of date. Update the statistics in test server and then try.
