Does SQL Server 2008 has any object similar to the Recordset Object in vb.net

Besides the Cursor object in Sql, is there an object where i can reference the data by index or column name

you need to see this for an approximate equivalent of arrays

Here is what I am expecting in SQL 2008 Store procedure

let' say, that I have table named table1 that contains 100 columns and 500 rows

I want to dump the data of table1 into @MyRecodeset

where I can do the following

declare @Value varchar(50)
declare @col int
delcare @row int

set @col = 10
set @row = 5
set @Value = @MyRecodeset (@col,@row)

therefore the @Value should be equal to whatever data in the 10 column at row 5.

then what you're looking at is table variable or table valued function
