| I am trying to Add a credential to a user either through SSMS or with the Alter Login Statement, but either way, I get the following message:Msg 15151, Level 16, State 1, Line 1Cannot find the credential '##xp_cmdshell_proxy_account##', because it does not exist or you do not have permission.I am A Sysadmin with Alter Any Login and Alter Any Credential permissions. Any thought on this?? | |

Does the credential exist? (look under Security/Credentials)Have you set the xp_cmdshell Server Configuration Option? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190693.aspx

Yes the credential does exist under the "Credentials" tab. I've also granted Execute on the xp_cmdshell because this is what it is used for. I want to map several non-sysadmin users to this credential, but it won't let me.

Would you be able to post the entire, failing query?

All I'm doing is running the following command:ALTER LOGIN ['Login name'] ADD CREDENTIAL [##XP_CMDSHELL_PROXY_ACCOUNT##]Like I said, that credential exist, I'm just trying to add the credential to whatever login name I use.If I right click on the login name in SSMS and go to properties, there is a place to Map the Credential to the login. Once I do that an add it, I get the previous error message each time.
