Naz writes "Hello,

Hope you guys can help me. I have implemented row locking by using the row locking hint "with (rowlock)" or "with (holdlock, rowlock)" but this locks the whole table instead.

Is there actual row locking in SQL Server?

Naz"

ROWLOCK is supposed to be a row-level lock.

How are you handling your transactions.

Can you post your stored procedure.

Depending on what your trying to achieve UPDLOCK might
also work for you if you want to place write lock but allow other users to read.
