I have a problem whereby numerics of a precision of 38 and a scale of 9 are showing and being interpreted in Access 2002 as text fields.I am using Linked tables over an ODBC connection to a SQL Server 2000 Database. If anyone has had this problem and knows a way around it please tell me as it's driving me mad at the moment... :) |

The biggest number Access can handle is decimal up to 28 digits. It cannot properly deal with numbers with higher settings. ODBC (I believe) also maxes out at 28 digits, but it wouldn't matter if it could go higher anyway. If you really don't need 38 digits and 9 decimal places you can knock the precision down to something Access can handle. |
