Stoad helped me with a probability query (http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=31117&SearchTerms=probability) which works great, but with a few hundred entries in the DB its making it kind of difficult for quick stats analysis. What I was wondering was given the same table:Wedding_Guest-------------ID - IDGuestName - VarCharProbability - Int (0-100, 0 there is no chance they will attend, 100 is they will definitely be there)Is there anyway to do a best guess Attendance probability? Meaning it figures out what is the most probable number of people attending, i.e. 'Probable Attendance: 135'

Totally off the top of my head.....if you have 10 guests registered1,guest1,1.02,guest2,1.03,guest3,1.04,guest4,1.05,guest5,1.06,guest1,0.57,guest1,0.58,guest8,0.39,guest9,0.310,guest10,0.4Surely the probable number of guests arriving is...7...i.e. the sum of the probabilities? In the case of guests 6,7....50% chance of either appearing...so therefore best guess is that 1 will be there....and likewise with the other guests....??

According to our pet statistician, that's right. However, selecting a value when the sum is not an integer is a bit more tricky: you can't just round to the nearest integer. However, if you have 150 guests, this isn't likely to be a problem.
