I've never needed the EXCEPT function, so I thought I'd try it for fun. I get syntax / violation notices everytime I try to execute it.

Is there something strange about that? Shouldn't

EXCEPT (('SAM'), ('JIM'))

Return a recordset of 'SAM', so...

SELECT EXCEPT (('SAM'), ('JIM'))

Should be a valid syntax??

OK, OK. My mistake.

I'll turn the page in BOL and try something else.
