neil writes "I am brand new to SQL, and recently the person in charge of our SQL server quit and I have to restore it.It is a Windows 2000 Advanced Server with SQL Server 2000 Developer. Now, this is a brand new install of both, and the original servers are on a full backup tape. What do I need to restore onto the new server to get the old databases, dts, stored procedures from the backup tape?" |

Copy the backup files to the database server. You'll need master, msdb, and the user databases. Then run RESTORE command for each.Tara |
