Greetings!

I am pretty sure that you can change the collation of a column in a WHERE clause but the following line gives me an error,


collate(dep.membno, 'SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS') = ee.employeereference


Still can't find it in BOL, but I have seen it somewhere in there beofre.

The examples in BOL are:-

SELECT (CASE WHEN id > 10 THEN GreekCol ELSE LatinCol END) COLLATE Latin1_General_CI_AS
FROM TestTab

SELECT *
FROM TestTab
WHERE GreekCol = LatinCol COLLATE greek_ci_as


look for collations and then the sub-category of COLLATE...
