Hey all-I know that 05 is right around the corner. Anyone have a guess as far as cost on it per CPU (or if it is going to change) Anyone know if they are planing on charging for reporting services in this release?I know there are some big changes in 2005 and usually with big changes come either a pricing change or a license change. Trying to put my 05 budget together. We use 2k and reporting services. No cube stuff yet. Thanks,Doug |

Well Reporting Services is only free when IIS is on the database server. This configuration is typically not used as IIS and SQL Server compete for resources causing performance problems. So a lot of organizations will need to purchase licenses for RS. Pricing is not available for 2005 yet.Tara |

I'm guessing it's going to cost about 15% more than it does currently. That's just a wild guess though. :) We'll see.MeanOldDBAderrickleggett@hotmail.comWhen life gives you a lemon, fire the DBA. |
