My problem si so simple but i´m an SQL newbie...
I´m trying to restore a database from a network drive with this sentence:

RESTORE DATABASE XSSSX FROM disk = 'S:\Something.bkp'

where S is the network drive but I obtain this error:

Server: Msg 3201, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
Cannot open backup device 'S:\Something.bkp'. Device error or device off-line. See the SQL Server error log for more details.
Server: Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

SQL Server's rights are what ever service account's rights that it's running under. If it's running as Localsystem, it has no access to a networked drive since it isn't a network authenticated account. Make sure SQL Server has the appopriate permissions to that networked drive.

BTW, you need to use a UNC naming standard name \\servername\share\blah.bak
