hello,I need some advice on creating an invoice table as well as a shopping cart table.I am wondering which would be a better design, My users woudl be allowed to purchase a maximum of 6 items for his/her shopping cart/Invoice table1. To keep all items in the shopping cart in the table columns item1, item2, item3, item4, item5, item6 or 2. To Create a seperate entry for each and purchase and reference it by a unique shopping IDKnowing that the user could pick one item NORMALLY at a time.I could use a union all statement to reference option1 above. But which would be a better design for both a shopping cart and invoice tablethanksAfrika

I vote 2.The view thing can be used to transpose the data from 1->2 or 2->1.rockmoose

I vote 2 as well. Because I'll also bet that the "6 item" limit is changed at some future point!Kristen
