Hi all,

I installed sql server reporting services on our server once but uninstalled due to conflict with ssl certificate.

Now, I am unable to install it again.

I keep getting a message that sql server reporting services setup is unable to install on your computer.

Has anyone faced this problem?

If yes, how was it resolved?

Thanks much in advance

Could you post the exact error?

hi Tara,

These are the error messages I get.

First I get this alert box. At the top of it, it reads:

"Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services Setup was unable to install on your computer."

Then it reads: "Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services Setup encountered and has rolled back"

Further down, it asks you to tell Microsoft about the error with 2 boxes: one says "Send Error Report" and the other says "Don't send"

We are trying to install this on sql server 2003 server.

Weird thing is that we had successfully set this up before but after uninstalling, it isn't installing anymore.

Have you tried rebooting then trying the installation again?

all I can say at present is that we are rebuilding a 2003 server which I will have to install RS in.
I will look out for the error and keep you informed.

2 options |
----------
1) call Microsoft
2) check the registry entries get rid of anything that has to do with reporting services...

I truly appreciate everyone's help on this.
As problem solvers that we all are, it is just not enough to re-image a server or pc. It is awfully important to understand the source of the problem because if we re-image, try to re-install the sofware and similar situation occurs, what do we do, re-image again?

It will help to understand the problem, this way even if we re-image, we will avoid having the same problem repeat itselt.
