ok, its been a long time between drinks, but just to keep my tag...there once lived a named madhivananwho liked databases so much that he lived in onewhen his outlook grew drearyhe'd just script another query...and now his post count reads a thousand and ninety one(OK I used "one" to rhyme with "one" which sux - but hey, sue me. )Orthere was a young man from near Chennaiwho lived, ate and drank Sequel databii*he ate SPs for lunchscheduled jobs, he would munchas he sipped his own mix of SQL-query-chai (databii = plural of "database", when you need it to rhyme with "I")Both pretty lame really - sorry Madhivanan, you deserve better...--I hope that when I die someone will say of me "That guy sure owed me a lot of money" |

Really Really Brilliant?Actually, its kind of a long (and intensely boring) story... but since you asked...when I first started visiting SQL team, my work user ID was rrb, so I used that. The reason my work UID was rrb was because they used a three letter code for all contractors, and a four letter code for all permanents. They had a formula to come up with unique UIDs, which basically took the first letter of your first name (R) and then the first letter of your last name (B) and then cycled through the alphabet for the middle letter until they came to a unique code, if they exhausted all that, then they would cycle on one of the other letters etc etcBecause there had already been (asc("R")-asc("A")-1) contractors with a first initial of "R" and last initial of "B", I got "rrb". They were a swedish company - not sure if that's relevant - but I guess they never expected to have had more than 17576 contractors and 456976 permanent staff...So (if you're not already asleep) it doesn't really stand for anything....Sorry to disappoint. --I hope that when I die someone will say of me "That guy sure owed me a lot of money" |
