Hi,I am looking for a solution to my problem.I have two servers, a production server and a drp server. Every day I must create a backup for bd1 on the prod server and to restore the bd1 on the drp server. For a good synchronisation I want to create only one job, with 2 steps, on the prod server. Is it possible and how can I do?Anybody can help me?Thanks in advance.

There are a few options. You would need to setup a linked server and execute the commands using sp_executesql. You can find information for these in Books Online. The other option, which I prefer, is to write the backup status to a file. Record start, error, completion. You can then run your restores by looking at this table. Record the same information for the restores. This will make troubleshooting easier and you can start building smart logic into you process to make it more reliable.MeanOldDBAderrickleggett@hotmail.comWhen life gives you a lemon, fire the DBA.

Hello and thank you very much for your answer. Presently I use the linked server solution but I wanted to know if there are other solutions because I have read that I can have security problems with this solution. Thanks again and I will test your solution that look interesting. Is it a dynamic file which is created every time when I run the job or is a history file (it keeps information about all restore)
