Hello all, I'm a newb so I'm still working my through the wealth of information on here, so apologies if this has been covered already! So here goes..

Is there any way of prioritising queries/sp's to dynamically start, pause and stop based on cpu usage? For example, if cpu usage falls below 10% then the query/sp starts, but if cpu usage exceeds 10% then it pauses, but does not stop/cancel, then carries on when the cpu usage is back below 10%, a sort of intelligent query.

Thanks and look forward to feedback!

Have you looked a scheduled jobs? You can start one when the cpu is idle...

Can you explain to us what you are trying to do..."pausing" a query or sproc doesn't make much sense...you need to think in terms of transactions...
