| Hows does SQL server works internally:What are his steps in the execution of a query?Where/how does he storage the information while executing a query?What type of Index he uses?and so on ...If anyone knows a website that contains this type of information about the SQL Server SGBD and could share it i would be most appreciated! |

| Is SQL Server a man? What's with the "what are his steps"?The book that Michael is referring to is written by Kalen Delaney. If you think you want to be a DBA in the future, then this is the book to buy. If, however, you just want to finish your homework, then I'd suggest reading the materials that your instructor gave you rather than us doing your homework for you.Tara Kizeraka tduggan |

Im not 10 yeard old and though my knowledge on SQL is somewhat limited (currently taking a degree on computer enginnering) my english isnt the best one but then again its not even my native language. quote:

Probably i didnt make myself clear... i dont direct answer to the questions i originally posted, what i need is a website/document that has the knowledge to answer to these sort of questions on the SQL Server domain. My "homework" is doing a small presentation about SQL Server (regarding querys and internal actions taken to answer them), using Net as source of information. Also, no, my manual doesnt have information about this issue and after a few hours spent searching on google/microsoft im starting to wonder if this sort of information is available to general public. These are the reasons why im posting on this forum since had very little luck on finding relevant information on this domain (all of the information i found so far was about SQL Server Services (DTs, Analysis, etc), which isnt what i need). |

Yes,already been there, it has a little of information of SQL Server architecture but none about the issues i mentioned last post.  Thanks for input though |

| The SQL Server performance website articles and the articles on this website are a good place to start. If you run this search on MSDN, you will get information overload. It's more than enough information to answer your questions. You will need to research and read a lot though.
