Me again...After getting the backup/recovery settings sorted out, I am now turning to performance on one server in particular. This server is dual processor w/3GB memory, running winserver2003 enterprise with sql server 2000 sp4. This machine has a couple other small apps running on it, and at this point I cannot move them. Question is, what is the best way to configure memory for this machine? Currently the SQL memory settings (in EM) are to dynamically configure memory size. What would give the optimal performance?AndyThere's never enough time to type code right, but always enough time for a hotfix... |

Ah,Kristen comes through for me yet again...Yes, they helped a lot. From reading the various posts it seems that I should leave this box as-is for the time being. The other apps running on this machine will eventually be moved off, and when it is a dedicated SQL box I will adjust the memory usage. Thanks again!AndyThere's never enough time to type code right, but always enough time for a hotfix... |
