hi alli was trying to install sql report servicesduring installation the setup asks me to select the instace name of service where the report server is running.after entering the instance name for service ie- <machine_name>\<service_name> and clicking next the setup says that it is unable to find the instace specified. can anyone help me should i create domain on server? |

Not sure what you mean, it should ask you for the sql server instance where you want the RS and RSTemp databases installed.

You should pick up a book and read about security. Which login are you using ?IS it a remote server ? What OS / What SQL install ? Are you using SQL Server Authentication or WIN NT ?

| We have the SQL Server Instance-'A' on Windows 2000 Server.And we`re trying ti install the reporting services evaluation edition on a machine which has Windows 2000 Professional.While installing the service we selected WindowsNT Authorization and then selected the SQL Server instance 'A' and selected SQL Logon and provided the username and password.After that we`re gettin the earlier mentioned problem. Plz reply and thnx in advance for ur wonderful response and effort |
