Hi all,I am having great trouble understanding a textbook I have about SQLMail\SQLServerAgentMail. I get this error messageI do not run an Exchange environment. I have a POP3 email account that is separate from domain account - different username and mailboxI guess what I am asking is, can I setup SQLMail/SQLServer Agent Mail under this configuration?I think I have followed the steps correctly but to no avail? Some basic guidance please? Thanks from Mike |

You can't. You have to use a MAPI compatible mail client to setup SQL Mail and thus SQLSeverAgentMail. Some people install Outlook on the server. You need an Exchange server to connect to if you do this though. Depending on what you are trying to accomplish, you could use SMTP mail instead. Why don't you read the articles on this site about SQL Mail.
