Hi all,

Apologies if this has been answered - I did have a quick look through the forums.

I would like to create a Backup Schedule for our website's live SQL DB.

When creating the job I came accross the message "SQLServer Agent needs to be running etc..."

My question is:

Why isn't SQLServerAgent set to automatic start-up by default?

Is it due to security issues? or is it a resource consumption thing...or something else..

Ta,
Pete

It's an option when you install.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
