I have a simple stored proc with one input parm that gets first and last name based on an ID#. There will be a connection established to this database and sproc from a VB 2005 front end. Do I need output parms for the name fields?

Thanks.

No, you can just output the result set using a select statement.

The output parameters come in handy if you want to have a query/stored proc grab the results from another stored procedure. Otherwise, as everyone has indicated you can just issue the select you want and the results will come back per your command.
