I've been given a SQL Server on a cluster to babysit. Clusters are completely new to me so I'm not sure if what I am seeing is normal.

The only access I have to this server is via SQL authentication and it is SQL Server 2000.

If I look at the properties in Enterprise Mangler the section about the startup service account is completely greyed out. Is this normal? Does it simply mean that I don't have access to that information or is there more to it than that? Am I missing something?

Many thanks in advance

steve

That's normal for a windows cluster IIRC.

It is normal. The SQL services should only be stopped/started from the Cluster Administrator application. Otherwise, the cluster interprets SQL Server going down as a "crash", and can try to failover.
