| Microsoft announced a version of Visual Studio for Database Professionals last week. It appears to be wrapped around schema control, unit testing and making Visual Studio a better SQL Server client. It will be interesting to see how the pricing of this plays out. It looks like a very interesting tool. Article Link. | |

                                          | Estimated retail of $5,469 apparently (pretty precise figure for an estimate!) http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2006/may06/05-31VSDatabasePR.mspxHas anyone installed the CTP yet? I'm unfortunately not in a position to do so. I'm particularly interested in how the schema/data comparison features stack up against something like Redgate or DBGhost, and how effective the unit testing and data generation is.Mark |
