Hi all,

Some Queries basically run faster in isql/w but the same is slower in front end application
front end vb.What the values are hard coded in isql/w window the same applied in front end it self.
but again it runs slowly

In Other queries are Run faster in the front end
What is The reason

Thanks

Another crystal ball question.

The front end is probably impacted by the processing oif the data once returned and maybe the network.
It may also be setting up a different environment.
Try using the profiler to see the statements executed.

May also be because sometimes when you test the data is already in memory and others it has to be read from disk.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
