Executed as user: Advan23\sqlservice. xp_sendmail: failed with mail error 0x80040115 [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 18025). The step failed. What can be causing this error? 1) The job will fail on a step that does a simple xp_sendmail.2) When I check in the morning, I run the job, only the xp_sendmail step and it works.Should the job owner be: sa? or Advan23\sqlservice? or does it matter? |

What version of Outlook are you using on the database server? Have you tried restarting the SQLSERVERAGENT service to fix the problem? SQL Mail problems are typically resolved by restarting the Agent service. When we were having lots of SQL Mail problems a few years back on SQL Server 2000, we contacted MS. They recommended that we upgrade our Outlook client from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2002/XP. It solved most of our SQL Mail problems. Occassionally, we need to restart the Agent service though or just stop and start SQL Mail using xp_stopmail and xp_startmail.Tara Kizer |

Tara,I've tried to re-start the Agent but to no avail. When I go to Properties on SQL Serve Agent, test my 'sqlservice' profile, it comes back with a 'successfully started and stopped a mail session with this profile'Then when I go to Support Services, click on Properties of SQL Mail, test the same 'sqlservice' profile, I get the mentioned error. We are using Outlook 2003 on the DB Server. |
