Has anyone benchmarked 32 and 64 versions of SQL server?

We have just taken delivery of a new server running x64 SQL Server 2005 and x64 Windows Server 2003 R2, latest SP's are installed. On the same test scripts, the x64 machine is higher spec'd and running inserts significantly quicker than the x32 machine, but queries are twice as slow.

Same default configs are in place for Sql Server,we have spent 2 days looking for H/W bottlenecks but the logs look fine. Any known issues with the x64 version that aren't published?
