When looking at the Device Manager of a client's Win XP machine, under "Other Devices" it shows SQL Server (actually a named instance of SQL Express), along with a few other software applications. Why would software be showing up in Device Manager like this?!

The other things listed with question marks under Other Devices are:
Network Security Service
Norton Anti-Virus Auto Protect Service
Office Source Engine
SQL Server

ALSO, every time the machine boots the "Found New Hardware Wizard" launches and wants to install a device driver. It never succeeds however. SQL works just fine and they can get into apps using SQL w/out issue, but they want the hardware wizard to go away AND to make these stop showing up in Device Manager. Any ideas???

If no one has seen this or knows what might be causing it, could someone point me to another forum/group that may be able to assist?
