Hello,I am currently creating reports using SSRS 2005 on my local machine.I think I will have to set up a report server machine so that each time I deploy the created reports from my machine to the report server. How do I create and setup the report server to hold the reports please? Thanks |

Did you read my post in the other thread about setting up security in RS? Site Settings in the RS Homepage, you need to specify users / groups (kind of like active directory), actually it uses your Active Directory accounts to access the reports. You just need to set this up. Disable anon access btw.Jon Keeping the web experience alive -- http://www.web-impulse.comRS Blog -- http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/jhermiz |

I am not familiar with Novel networks. However, you guys still have to have some place where users / groups are assigned right? If so you need to add these groups to the Reporting Services Site Settings (security rights). For instance you are on the Foobar domain and your name is frank and you want frank to see all the reports. Then you need to add Foobar\Frank to the security settings of RS, otherwise if you dont users will see the RS homepage but will NOT see any reports. Every time someone tries to brose to the reports home page, they get a log on screen. Can this be avoided. i.e. can they just get in without having to log in?Thanks |
