| hi, i have varchar(8000) only acceptsin my colimn.is there any possiblity to insert 10000 words in my row? i am using sqlserver2000. can any one please help me |

| No, there is no way use insert more then 8000, characters in a varchar field.. the alternative solutions would be using Text datatype or you can split the word into the len of 8000 characters and insert them into 2 different rows .. based on your id..Chiraghttp://chirikworld.blogspot.com/ |

if you upgrade to 2005, use varchar(max). on 2000 you can use text/ntext www.elsasoft.org |

| Are they "words" or "text"?If they are "words", such as Keywords or somesuch, I would store them in an associated table. This will be, for example, easy & fast to search.If they are "text", such as a description or essay, then store them as a Text datatype. This is less flexible to search, and can be harder to manipulate.Kristen |
