Hi everyone I'm very new in sql server and I'm trying to connect a database "mydatabase" that is in a server xx.xxx.xxx.xx with my application that is in another server ddd.ddd.ddd.dd, the servers are not in the same network one is in Brazil and the other in DC, I'm using sql server 2005 and VC# .net 2005 but, I'm can't create the correct connection string :(, using a table the username and password that I have, somebody help me, with resources or an example.

Thanks for the answer but, I have a little problem in the middle, A firewall is a watch guard fire box x in one of the servers so the connection through the firewall is not so easy, any suggestions or comments?

you have to open the port you want in the middle firewall.

Am I right that the tcp port is 1433? or there are more ports?

yes the default one is 1433. but since it is the default port i'd suggest you change it.
